Proposals

Ask her here. Then decide where to get married.

A private boat, the coast behind you, and nobody else there to see it — except the photographer you won't notice. I arrange about twenty of these a year, almost all of them on the water, almost always at sunset.

On the water

Why it's almost always the boat.

The boat belongs to me — Chic & Fabulous — so nobody else decides when it leaves or who else is on it. There is no marina schedule to fit around and no other charter waiting for the hull back at seven. If you want to sit still for twenty minutes while you work up the nerve, we sit still.

Positano is usually the backdrop and sunset is usually the hour, because at that time of day the light does the work that no decoration can. It is also the only reliable way to be genuinely alone on a coast this crowded.

Proposals happen on land too, and I plan those as well — a terrace, a garden, a quiet corner of Ravello — if the water is not your idea of it.

What I handle

Four things, done before you arrive.

  • Flowers arranged before you arrive

  • Champagne on ice, ready for the moment it's actually needed

  • A photographer positioned to catch it without being seen

  • The one route that gets you there without anyone noticing why

Afterwards

A proposal is a small job. The wedding is not.

If she says yes, some couples come back to plan the wedding here too — by then, they already know how I work. Nobody is asking anyone to commit to that today.

If you want to look ahead anyway, the four shapes of wedding page and Villa Mariella are the two places to start.

Tell me the date, and whether she already suspects.
